If you have read our Chinese New Year 2015 article, you would know that we, the leading movie distributor in Malaysia, have three more festive Chinese movie releases installed to help you ease off the post-holiday blues!
King of Mahjong
The Singaporean-Malaysian co-production which features star-studded casts from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan is getting a February 26th release this Chinese New Year. This Chinese movie will see an incredible ensemble cast which include our two male leads Chapman To and Mark Lee, Miss Chinese International Michelle Ye, Hong Kong model/actress Venus Wong, member of Super Girls Cheronna Ng, homegrown actor Adrian Tan and more! Expect a special cameo from veteran comedian Eric Tsang to add to the laugh bucket. King of Mahjong centres on the apprentice rivalry between the two disciples, Wong Tin-ba (Mark Lee) and Fatt (Chapman To), of legendary Mahjong maestro Master Ru (Eric Tsang). One went on to become a world-renowned Mahjong champion and the other who chose a humble, low-key life as a yong tau fu seller. Their eventual reunion after two decades sparked a flame in Wong who challenged a reluctant Fatt to an ultimate showdown. In a bid to urge Fatt to oblige to his demands, Wong kidnaps Fatt’s wife forcing his return into the world of Mahjong! Don’t miss out on this barrel of laughs in cinemas this February 26th!
ATM
If Chinese New Year is a time for family gatherings, then there is no better activity to do together than to catch this heart-warming family flick. The upcoming Chinese movie ATM will star Malaysia’s very own Joanne Yew, Kelvin Kwan, C Guan and will also feature an ensemble cast of familiar veteran actors such as Nina Paw, Lo Hoi Pang, and Stanley Fung. ATM starts with our three leading stars pulling off a brazen heist stealing an ATM machine which they eventually loses. In their search for the machine, they stumble upon a nursing home in which they meet the residents who open their eyes to the true meaning life. Cash in on laughter and tears when you catch ATM in cinemas this 26th of February.
12 Golden Ducks
After delving into the role of “the world’s oldest profession” in the Golden Chicken series, Sandra Ng is back! Swapping her bazoombas for a realistic looking prosthetic chiselled chest and sculpted abs, Sandra Ng continues her exploration in the world of whoredom this time as a gigolo (referred to as “Duck” in Chinese, hence the title). Just as with the Golden Chicken series, you can expect 12 Golden Ducks to be bursting at the seams with celebrity cameos, mega stars of Hong Kong’s entertainment industry which include Louis Koo, Nicholas Tse, Eason Chen, Anthony Wong, Simon Yam, Joey Yung, and Ivana Wong just to throw out a few names. Blending the elements of comedy, romance, and *ahem* action, 12 Golden Ducks is a comeback story centred on the misadventures of a herd of gigolos with Sandra at the helm. In order to make their mark in the tumultuous yet opportunistic economic environment of metropolitan Hong Kong, they flirt and flatter their way into the hearts of women while masking their own sorrows and pains. Be prepared for uproarious sequences as well as heart-warming moments in Sandra Ng’s latest movie 12 Golden Ducks! In cinemas 26th of February.
