K-pop group, BTS is finally coming to the big screen!
Korean culture is rapidly influencing the world. Notice how Korean dramas are all over Netflix and how the Korean 10-step skincare routine is being practiced by almost every girl in the planet? They call it the Hallyu or “Korean wave” and at the very heart of it is the ever-popular, Korean pop music or what we know as “K-pop”. With the combination of upbeat melodies, synchronized choreography, and attractive South Korean performers, K-pop has truly taken the world by storm.
One of the groups that are now making it big in the K-pop industry is BTS – Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene”. The South Korean boy band consists of 7 members – RM, Jimin, V, Jungkook, Suga, Jin, and J-Hope.

The group debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment and has gained international popularity in 2016, earning them numerous world tours and albums after albums. Among the successful album releases are “Love Yourself: Tear” in 2018 that became the first K-Pop album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Their famed single, “Fake Love,” which they performed in the Billboard Music Awards also peaked at No. 10 in June. The album also reached Gold certification.

Aside from successful albums, BTS is also sweeping recognition with their large social media presence. Forbes listed the K-pop group as the most retweeted artist on Twitter in 2016. Following that, twitter launched its first ever K-pop emoji featuring BTS.

The new movie release will follow the Korean boy band around the world on their 2017 “Live Trilogy Episode III The Wings” tour where they performed their second studio album, Wings in front of more than 550,000 die-hard fans across 40 concerts and 19 cities.
