New movie Helios brings international stars together

Greek mythology has never come up short-handed in giving us great shows. This time round, the Chinese film industry releases its own interpretation of a Greek god, to which the new movie is named after: Helios. Helios was personified as the sun in Greek mythology, and this new movie is filled with fiery, explosive action at every corner. The show starts off with Helios, played by Taiwanese actor Chang Chen, who sets of stealing uranium and selling it to a terrorist organization in Hong Kong. Leading the defence is Chief Inspector Lee Yin Ming (Nick Cheung) and Inspector Fan Ka Ming (Shawn Yue) from the Counter Terrorism Response Unit of the Hong Kong Police Force, working alongside Chinese senior official Song An (Wang Xueqi), Physics professor Siu Chi Yan (Jacky Cheung) and two South Korean weapon experts played by Ji Jin-Hee and Choi Siwon.

With the authorities working hard to pick up clues and bring the criminal to justice, he always seems to escape by a whisker. The plot deepens as a mole is suspected to be amongst the good guys. Having to work together to beat the clock and avoid global destruction, Helios sees a non-stop artillery of explosives, high speed chases and gun shots that will guarantee you leaving the cinema with adrenaline rushing through your veins.

This new movie sees Jacky Cheung’s return to the silver screen since 2010 and Choi Siwon’s second movie casting of the year after another internationally-cast movie, Dragon Blade.
