What’s the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you? Maybe a door slammed shut for no apparent reason. Maybe you saw a haunting shadow by some doorway. For Hee-yeon, it was finding a seemingly innocent girl in the woods. What was there to be scared about? You’ll see when you watch this new horror movie!

The Mimic tells the story of Hee-yeon, a mother who is mourning the loss of her son. She moves back to her hometown near Mount Jang in Busan with her husband, daughter, and her mentally-challenged mother. One day, Hee-yeon hears an ominous call from the woods and finds a strange mute girl. She thinks the girl must have lost her way and decides to take her in until they find her parents.

 The whole family soon finds out that this girl was stranger and more sinister than what they expected. She starts to imitate everything about Jun-hee, Hee-yeon’s daughter: her hair, her name, and even her voice. But that’s not all, soon the girl also imitates family member’s voices to lure them into deadly situations. A local legend of a creature mimicking people surfaces, but could it be real? Or if it was all just a figment of Hee-yeon’s imagination who suffers from auditory hallucination? Watch this scary movie to find out!

It’s the first time in years that a horror movie was such a blockbuster hit. The movie was directed by Huh Jung, also famous for directing the horror movie Hide and Seek. Yum Jung-ah plays the troubled Hee-yeon. Shin Rin-ah is the creepy little girl and Bang Yoo-seol plays Joon-hee.
