Set in the beautiful city of Prague, headlined by former member of K-pop boy band Exo’s Kris Wu Yifan, Oriental beauty Wang Likun, actress/director Xu Jinglei, along with an emotionally satisfying story line, Somewhere Only We Know is every bit as good as it seems.

 

The story follows Jin Ying (Wang Likun), who after a major breakup and the sudden death of her beloved grandmother moves to Prague where her grandmother resided back in the 40s. There she meets aspiring musician Zhe Yang (Kris Wu Yifan) who seems eager to establish a romantic relationship with our heroine. Tracing the footsteps of her late grandmother, Jin Ying stumbles upon an old love letter addressed to her grandmother Lan Xin (Xu Jinglei) by some Checzian named Ralf. As it turns out, Ralf is a past lover of Jin Ying’s grandmother who loved her so much that to this day he continues to visit the place where they first met in hopes of reuniting with the love of his life someday. Intrigued by the letter, Jin Ying starts on an excursion through the streets of Prague in search for her grandmother’s mysterious lover. The love story of two generations sparked by the exotic charms of the city of Prague is sure to be a great date material for Valentine’s Day.

A spin-off of the popular TVB drama series, the much anticipated movie adaptation of Triumph in the Skies has been in the works since last fall. Shot in various scenic locations in England and Beijing, the breath-taking autumn backdrops shine just as bright as the stars in the movie. Francis Ng and Chilam Cheung will resume their pilot roles while the brand new arc will see the inclusion of Louis Koo, Sammi Cheng, Charmaine Sheh, and Amber Kuo.  Triumph in the skies follows the three romance stories of our three pilots Captain Cool (Chilam Chueng) Sam (Francis Ng), and Branson (Louis Koo).

 

Newcomer pilot Branson inherits his father’s aviation empire only to realize his past flame and flight attendant Cassie (Carmen Sheh) works for him now. As co-workers they struggle to supress their  obvious feelings for each other. Will they eventually overlook this fact and embrace a new relationship with a familiar love?

 

In order to reestablish his newly inherited company, Branson hires rock icon TM (Sammi Cheng) to become the face of his company in an upcoming commercial and appoints carefree jovial pilot Sam to coach her on flying. Coming from discrepant and divergent backgrounds with polar personalities, things between the two took a rocky start but as the shooting progresses, the gradually develop feelings for each other.

 

Captain Cool (Julian Cheung) has departed the world of commercial flying to become a private pilot. During his new stint he meets the young and buoyant Kika (Amber Kuo) who he takes to be capricious but it turns out that they share more in common than he expected. He starts a romantic relationship with her only to realize that Kika is stricken with a terminal illness.

 

Triumph in the Skies will be opening in cinemas this 14th of February.
