New Movies to Kickstart The New Year

With the rush of the holiday season at an end, it is time to recover and look forward to a new year of new beginnings, new challenges and of course new movies! Yowamushi Pedal

Our love for Japanese movies is real and this time we are bringing the eminent anime movie adaptation of hit manga series Yowamushi Pedal to the big screens of Malaysia. Yowamushi Pedal tells the story of Sakamichi Onoda, a shy otaku who finds his purpose in road bicycle racing when he joins the varsity team of Shohoku High School. The movie feature begins after the team won the Inter-High race. Sakamichi and the team receives an invitation to compete in the Kumamoto Hi Province Mountain Range Race. All top-tier teams throughout the country will be competing including Shohoku’s arch rivals Hakone Academy! For all of you hot-blooded otakus out there looking to see the blood, sweat, and gears rolling, Yowamushi Pedal is now playing in select cinemas!

May Who? 

Teen angst becomes electrifying in Thailand’s latest teen movie about a schoolgirl who possesses the power of emitting electrical charges whenever her heart rate hits 120 bpm making it hard for her to get close to anyone. May Who is a loner at school due to her voltaic powers, and every time she bumps into Fame, the school’s star athlete, her heart starts racing. Her powers were eventually discovered by a classmate, Pong, who is a shy guy with a crush on the school’s most popular girl. Together they help each other get closer to the ones they love. Catch May Who? in cinemas now for the most electrifying teen movie you’ll ever see.

Senior

The second Thai movie on the list once again features an outcast schoolgirl with a special ability. Adhiti who attends a convent boarding school has a very special gift indeed, a gift to smell spirits lingering nearby. Her unique ability leads her to develop a connection with a boy ghost who was a student at the school in the 1980s. Together, the unusual duo investigates a murder that occurred 50 years ago when the place was home to a princess, who was found beaten, bloodied, and very much dead in her domicile. Back then, the gardener was the one who took the blame but it appears there is more to her death than it seems. Catch the adventure of girl and ghost in Senior. Coming to cinemas this January 14^th.

No Longer Heroine

Adapted from the popular shojo manga Shikakku Heroine, No Longer Heroine follows female high school student Hatori Matsuzaki in her pursuit for love. While believing her childhood friend and crush Rita Terasaka will eventually date her, Terasaka ends up going out with another girl Miho Adachi, crushing her dreams of becoming his heroine. Meanwhile, the most popular boy in school Kosuke Hiromitsu takes an interest in our heroine of the movie and makes a move. No Longer Heroine will play in cinemas this January 21^st!
