Upcoming Movies: The Haunting Continues with Shut In!
Still got a hangover from the exciting thrills of Halloween? The chills are not over! GSC Movies brings you one of its upcoming movies that will give you the hair-raising creeps you crave for. Starring The Ring lead actress and two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts, SHUT IN is coming to haunt the cinemas this 10 November.
After child psychologist Mary Portman (Naomi Watts) lost her husband in an accident that also made their only son (Charlie Heaton) paralyzed, she finds herself isolated in their big house. Severely unhappy with the sad state she and her son is in, she takes home a strange orphaned boy named Tom (Jacob Tremblay) from work to take care of as her own. One day, she loses Tom during a deadly storm in which he couldn’t have survived. When all efforts of finding him alive were exhausted, she starts blaming herself and becomes convinced that he is haunting them in her own home. But is he, really? Is Tom really dead? Is everything just a figment of her sleep-deprived imagination? Or is there something else in their house that they’re supposed to be afraid of? If you want to get answers, make sure to catch this in cinemas coming soon!
Produced by Luc Besson (Lucy, Leon: The Professional) and directed by Farren Blackburn, Shut In is a psychological thriller full of gems in the film industry. If you’re a fan of horror movies, it’s impossible that you haven’t seen – or at least heard of the 48 year-old British actress Naomi Watts. Starring in various thrillers including the horror classic The Ring (2002) and its sequel, Funny Games (2007), and Dream House (2011), Naomi Watts is a veteran of the suspense genre. “I’ve always enjoyed the thriller genre,” Watts explains. “So many different emotions come with fear, and I like playing fear.” Director Farren Blackburn also shares that he immediately thought of Naomi Watts the first time he read the script claiming that “she has the ability to switch from calm, normal and curious to fearful then to terrified in just seconds.”
Aside from Watts, the film also stars Charlie Heaton from the increasingly popular series Stranger Things and Jacob Tremblay, another rising talent from the critically acclaimed Room (2015).
So if you still can’t get enough Halloween horror, add Shut In to you movie list! This psychological fear will definitely consume you in the cinemas. If you still haven’t watched themovie trailers, you better do it now!
